projection of solids - right circular cone (axis inlined to one plane and parallel to other plane)

01.given,base corner resting on HP, axis inclined to HP
02.given,generator resting on HP, axis inclined to HP
03.given,generator perpendicular to HP

  1. In the third drawing did you draw the circle of final projection with compass? I took 8 generators so i don't get a circle at last which can be drawn with a compass that occupies all points. please help me

    1. The thing is not about the number of generators you take.. it can be 4 or 8 or even more... but the final view you get is not a exact circle... it will be an ellipse which resembles like circle... I made the final view by connecting all points by free hand sketching..But if you are not comfortable with free hand sketching you can also use compass to create such ellipse... Ok now...In the final view ... 1. Connect any 4 points to get a proper parallelogram2. Chose a corner on the parallelogram and also its opposite corners. So now you have 2 CORNERS... 3. Choose the FIRST CORNER and draw 2 lines bisecting the opposite EDGES.4. Similarly choose the SECOND CORNER and draw 2 lines bisecting the opposite EDGES...5. So now you have 4 LINES.6. Look the 4 lines have 2 intersecting points in it... Choose that 2 points as you compass center and with suitable radius you will be able to draw 4 arcs which will give the FINAL ELLIPSE.

  2. will you help me to answer this question ?
A cone resting on hp on a point of circumference of the base with a generator perpendicular to hp and parallel to vp

    1. For this question the solution is the 3rd drawing itself.... look into the view 3 , the cone is touching the hp with a point of its base circumference. Also the generator is straight which means perpendicular to hp and parallel to vp.... you can directly use the 3rd drawing

  3. Thank you very much for your valuable comments. I have one more doubt about finding dark lines and dotted lines. How we can we understand which of the lines are dotted l while doing projections of solid

    1. For any given view.. the visible portion of the solid will be dark lines... all other edges or corners or surfaces which are invisible on the particular view will be hidden lines which should be represented as dotted lines
